North Juanita Modern Northwest Bathroom Update
This comprehensive bathroom remodel in the desirable North Juanita neighborhood of Kirkland, WA, transformed a dated and dim space that was failing to meet our clients' modern lifestyle needs. The original bathroom featured an outdated, aging vanity, dark finishes, and—uniquely—carpeted flooring. The biggest functional hurdle was the inefficient "wet room," which crammed the shower and toilet into a tight combined space. The overall layout was disconnected, dark, and far from the elevated, Modern Northwest aesthetic our clients envisioned for their Juanita townhouse. Recognizing the challenges, our expert Kirkland design-build team committed to a complete layout redesign to maximize the existing footprint and introduce lasting functionality and contemporary style.
Relocating the toilet unlocked the opportunity to create a completely new, spacious walk-in shower. We transformed the previously cramped wet room into a luxurious, frameless-glass enclosure, featuring a full wall-to-wall bench, dual shower heads, and elegant vertical glazed tile with subtle marble-look accents. Recessed niches were incorporated for seamless, everyday storage. The open glass enclosure showcases the beautiful tilework and dramatically brightens the room, giving the shower a truly spa-like feel. The final result is a stunning, functional, modern bathroom retreat that fits seamlessly into the Juanita townhouse, thoughtfully redesigned for improved flow, daily comfort, and the enduring beauty of Modern Northwest design.
To effectively reimagine the space, our team completely overhauled the layout, relocating the toilet next to the new double-sink vanity. This strategic move instantly opened the entire bathroom footprint, vastly improving flow and function. The vanity area was elevated with rich, warm wood cabinetry, a clean quartz countertop, and sleek modern matte-black hardware, creating warmth and balance. Durable, large-format porcelain tile replaced the outdated carpet, providing a contemporary foundation that firmly establishes the Modern Northwest aesthetic. Thoughtful updates like new lighting completed the vanity zone, bringing a functional and stylish core to this Kirkland bathroom update.
